I like mail.app. Really. There is only 1 thing that always used to bother me, and that’s the option of having the preview window on the right being absent. Well, here it is. Letterbox. Works awesome ![]()
Porcupine Tree @ 013 Tilburg Concert Review
Few, that was quite some experience right there. After listening to a lot Porcupine Tree for the past months / years, and even seeing them back at the Pinkpop Festival, it was now time to attend the concert they where giving away in Tilburg, which was set for a DVD recording. It was known they we’re “diving into the catalog” for this one, so I really didn’t know what to expect. The only thing I did know that it wasn’t going to be anything like their previous DVD.
The setup of the stage was really good, with a big screen behind the band, and a screen at both sides of the stage. They started of with playing the whole “Fear of a Blank Planet” album, which was really nice. Highlights of this first bit of the concert where “Anesthetise” (which was accompanied by lovely strobe lighteffects at the heavy parts) and the visual effects presented on screen, with the “Way out of here” video being absolutely top notch.
After this first bit, the band took a 5 minute break, to come back with something that was anything but ordinary.
The second bit of the set was made out of old songs of the band, which weren’t that familiar to me. Nevertheless, this bit also was very great, making me want to listen to “Stars die, the delerium years” even more. Highlights for me at this point where “Normal”, “Stars die”, “Open Car”, “Wedding Nails” and “Blackest Eyes”. Something very cool to mention as well was the “Space guitar” Steven used during Half-light, which gave the song an extra dimension. At the base of the guitar, a moving space-kinda-thing was to be seen, very nice!
After that they came back for an encore, which consisted of “Sleep of no Dreaming” and Halo. The latter was also presented with a very nice vid, which is to be seen here:
After the concert I bought a LP of “The sky moves sideways”, which I’m going to use for some decorational purposes. It can be seen on the left.
The rest of my pictures can be seen here.
Complete setlist:
01 | Fear of a blank Planet
02 | My Ashes

Anouk - Michel Cover
After the positive reactions I got on my first vid, I decided to make another. This time it’s an acoustic one; Michel from Anouk, Enjoy!
Wolfmother - Joker & The Thief Cover
Jup, it’s here. The first vid of me playing guitar out on the big evil internet. The intro is a bit out of sync but I couldn’t get it more perfect then what it is right now. Blame my iMovie skills for that
Enjoy!

Jup.. we sure do, don’t we?
From Simple Plan - When I’m Gone
Why I HAVE to go to Pinkpop 2008.
So I live in the south bit of the Netherlands, which isn’t that bad at all, but when it comes to music concerts and stuff I have to travel more than the actual duration of a concert because I have to to Tilburg, where the 013 lies, or to Amsterdam, where the Heineken Music Hall is located.
BUT, once a year there is the pinkpop festival in landgraaf. And the line-up of this year is absolutely my thing. They could’ve taken my iTunes library and picked the artists from there. So I am definitely going. And since of yesterday, I few of my friends are coming along to. Damn it’s going to be such a party
Anyway, here’s the line-up until now:
Foo Fighters, Metallica, Incubus, Rage Against the Machine, Queens of the Stone Age, Kaiser Chiefs, Counting Crows, The Verve, The Hives, Groove Armada, KT Tunstall, Bad Religion, Editors, Flogging Molly, Justice, Porcupine Tree, Gavin DeGraw, Chris Cornell, Kate Nash, Alter Bridge, Roisin Murphy, Serj Tankian, The Wombats, Saybia, Pete Murray, Racoon, Patrick Watson, Novastar, Fiction Plane, Moke, Cavalera Conspiracy, Sat2D
Wooohooo!
30 Seconds to Mars Concert!
Last Saturday I went to the 30 Seconds to Mars concert in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. After a long trip of about 2.5 hours, we we’re finally standing in line and waiting on a friend that would have the tickets. Half-way there.. no tickets. In front of the line.. Still no tickets. We decided to get out of the line and wait a while. The concert would start at 20:00 but 30 Secs would start at 21:45. So time enough. So about 20:00 we we’re finally inside and the fun could begin
Now! Backup with time machine to network share, only $ 299,-
This is the first time Apple got against me, and against a lot of other Time machine users. Why CAN’T we backup with time machine to our humble samba shares on our home servers, but IS it actually possible to do the very same thing, if your “humble samba share” happens to be on an Apple Router with HDD? I guess uncle Steve has smelled the $$. Apple - 1.
